Full Description
Welcome to a full day tour of Indonesia's cultural capital, Yogyakarta, visiting the island's main attractions: the Borobudur and Prambanan temples.

You can talk about Borobudur complex for hours, because it is ‘one of the largest Buddhist temples in the world’, ‘one of the most popular attractions in Indonesia’, ‘the eighth wonder of the world’. However, none of these epithets convey even a fraction of the feeling of being on the spot and experiencing all its power and strength in person.
On the day of the trip you will be picked up early, transferred to the airport and take a short flight to Java. There you will be met by a guide who will accompany you throughout the day.

Borobudur is a colossal religious structure built in the shape of a stupa, resembling a mandala from a bird's eye view. It was built using 2 million blocks of stone to create the eight tiers of the temple. The bottom five are square in shape. They are crowned by three round tiers and countless bell-shaped stupas.
On all levels of the temple there are many statues of the seated Buddha and bas-reliefs depicting his life journey. By the way, the name ‘borobudur’ translates as ‘thousands of Buddhas’.

The temple is a place of attraction for tourists and pilgrims from all over the world. Together we will walk all the levels around the perimeter seven times, necessarily clockwise, and touch every Buddha statue we meet. According to legend, it helps in finding happiness.

Java's largest Hindu temple, Prambanan, is over two hundred religious buildings erected in honour of the deities Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma and their sacred animals.
